Can't decide whether you want a tip up or slider canopy, check this link out www.aircraftextras.com. RV-6 builder, Rich Meske has a kit for a slider - tip up. I don't know anything about it but is sure sounds good. Maybe, I'll get a chance to see it at Oshkosh this summer.
I've been using the Anywhere Map from Control Vision for about a 18 months and really do like it. I run it on a Compaq Ipaq. They have recently added instrument approaches to the software. (Of course, it's not certified for IFR but is good for positional awareness)
Blue Mountain Avionics is getting a lot of attention on the mailing lists for their EFIS system. I had the opportunity to visit them at Copperhill with some folks from the Tennessee Valley RV Builders group in Dec. 2001. I'm giving serious consideration to their EFIS lite. It has the basic six instruments covered for around $3,600 with the upgrade to include magnetic heading. The RC Allen electric DG & AI are about $1,700 bucks a piece so the price is in line. I still need to decide what I'd do for a backup.
