Chris was home on spring break so we installed the wings.
This is how much I trimmed from the rear spar. You're always a little
apprehensive about trimming, especially when the plans call for insuring a
5/8" edge distance. But it worked out.
Not many pictures in between but here is the end result.
Maybe I'll fill in some more details later but in summary, it all worked great. I did have to trim a little on the rear spar but besides that everything lined up perfectly.
I piddled with things all day getting things set and aligned with the flaps, ailerons fuel lines and attach points.
I
didn't take any pictures in between and this isn't the same one as above.
The flap push rods have been assembled. The holes that I cut in the
fuselage for the push rods to pass through are just a ugly as anyone else.
I hooked up the flap motor to the lawnmower battery and adjusted the
flaps. I also hooked up the aileron pushrods and set them and the control
stick. I must say that everything aligned with each other. The line
looking down the rear edge of the ailerons and flaps is just about perfect.
The front fuel tank attach point. The red circle is just to remind me to
place a nut-plate on this side and in this orientation.
Just another shot of some fuel lines. This is the side that has the flop tube. I don't think it is possible to route this line on a tricycle, through the landing gear and then make these bends. Well, at least I don't think it was possible for me.

I made a mount for the strobe power supply. I made this out of .063
angle. Actually, I was rather proud of how this turned out. You
can't really see this but I notched the bottom to fit around the "J"
channel.
The finished product.
I assembled the brake lines tonight. I do need to get some good wire ties and tie these lines down.

I've
spent the last few nights assembling the forward top section of the
fuselage. Here's the skin drilled in place. Of course all the ribs
are in place under the skin.
My
camera is acting a little strange so I haven't taken many pictures lately.
But here is a close up of the small brackets that hold the instrument panel in
place. You can also see the vent in the lower portion of the
picture.
