Finishing Paint & Final Assembly

Mark has everything painted except the striping on the wings.  I picked up all the small pieces last Thursday night.  We assembled the tail feathers, finished up the electrical in the tail section, de-pickled the engine, tidied up the electrical FWF and other loose ends.  Mark should have the wings tips striped by the weekend.  That will be major as we can finish up the wiring in the wings, get them installed and get this thing finished up.

Here are just some more pictures of the plane.

(3/19/04)  Mark finished up the wings and Chris and I installed them last weekend.  It finally got nice enough to pull the plane out of the hangar and take some shots with the wings installed. I also added a couple of pictures of Carl and Dean from the local EAA helping with the weight and balance.  The plane came in at 1144 pounds gross weight.

Yes, she does run.  After bleeding the fuel lines, it probably didn't spin 3-4 blades before coming to life.  We adjusted the idle and idle mixture.  Other than that, all looks good.

I had the honor of the first start but no pictures.  Here's a couple of shots with Chris at the controls.
